Jammin’ Pans held their first live performance

Two months ago, Virgil Franklin along with the help of Tony Kluesner, formed the Jammin’ Pans Steel Band and on February 19, they held their first concert at the Glenburn Nursing Home. “Our first concert went well,” said Franklin, “It was great to get out in the community and play.” The concert began at 7 p.m. and the band played their entire repertoire of music to a live audience. Franklin explained that the Jammin’ Pans Steel Band is still looking for venues to play.

“We are open to play anywhere around the community and if anyone is interested in having us perform, you contact us via our Facebook page. All you have to do is just ask us to show up and we will perform,” said Franklin. Other events the Jammin’ Pans Steel Band are scheduled to play are the Fourth of July Freedom Festival Parade and at Humphreys Park in Linton. The Jammin’ Pans Steel Band is still looking for more people to sign up. The group is taking anyone ages 10 and up and the monthly fees are $20.

“There are still some spots available and we are still taking anyone is who interested in joining the band,” said Franklin. In order to sign up for the Jammin’ Pans Steel Band, get in contact with the group via Facebook, or contact Virgil at lambjamfestival@gmail.com, or call the Carnegie Center in Linton.
