Panwomen is Boss”– All-female Pan Jazz Concert

PanAtlanta Networks, Inc. presents “Panwomen is Boss,” an All-Female Pan Jazz Concert, on Sunday, July 28, 2013, at the LaJoya Auditorium, Eastern Main Road St. Joseph (opposite the Jinnah Memorial Mosque). The show is designed to celebrate female pannists for their contribution to the steelband movement.

Women are in no uncertain terms the nucleus of the steelband movement. They give life and sustenance to the world of the steelband. They give birth to the practitioners, supporters and critics of the art form. They provide the support necessary for its gestation, development and evolution.

On Sunday, 28th July, 2013, steelpan lovers in Trinidad and Tobago and the Caribbean should take a couple of hours off and pay homage to the female members of the steelpan fraternity. Join us at the LaJoya Auditorium as PanAtlanta Networks, Inc. presents “Panwomen is Boss” to celebrate the female pannists of Trinidad and Tobago.

Come and celebrate them all and enjoy some of the most proficient female pannists on the planet: Anther BalfourAyana Garcia,Shivana RagoonananKeisha Codrington, Yesha George and Solo Harmonites Juniors Female Ensemble. The program also includes the sisters of Wasa Foli, and special guest, up and coming jazz songstress, Hope Fairways.

“Panwomen is Boss” is under the musical direction of renowned pannist, Natasha Joseph from Phase II and Panazz. Natasha’s band,MAW-B, will provide the accompaniment for the soloists. Solo Harmonites Juniors Female Ensemble is under the direction of Cyllan Franklin and managed by Hazel Frank.
